Constant Battle with Change

December 31, 2016

Barely a year had passed since I decided to put up a new blog in a new blogging platform, away from the one I used to be with for the past years. I tried to build that blog in a way that I thought I want it to be. But that satisfaction seemed to be short-lived that after some time, I am itching to make a blog that is way different from my first two.  Though I don’t have the slightest idea on how to make this work yet, I am bringing this new page to life –

Join me as I document my daily life exposure – places I’ve visited, food crawl, my life as an engineer, and everything in between.

How did you come up with your blog and what were the struggles you dealt with to transform it in the way you want it to be?

  1. YES GURL! :D I think one of the things that we should be proud of doing is changing when things don't work anymore for us. My blog was previously a book blog, but I wanted to blog more stuff other than just books, so I finally decided to rebrand my blog into something personal that I like.

It's so cool OMG you're an engineer!! I'm a 4th year ECE student, and I also want to share my life as an engineer in the near future in my blog :D I look forward to your next posts :D

Cheers for 2017. Happy new year! :D

    1. I couldn't agree more! If you're not happy anymore, then a little change wont hurt. A book blog is really cool, tho. I love to read so I'll always consult you for a good read, that's a warning. Haha!

I'm an ECE! I currently passed the board exam this October. I'll be following your road to being an engineer. Good luck! You'll be needing that. Happy New Year!!! God bless!

  2. Yey! You're back! ^_^ Good luck on this new journey, Xeph! I'm looking forward for your posts (no pressure! Haha).

I used to blog in tumblr and I remember wanting to switch to a different platform because I felt that tumblr was so limiting, and I wanted to explore more on what the blogosphere had to offer. I tried weebly, and blogger before but I went back to tumblr because I was overwhelmed and was just really struggling to understand how they work. Early this year, I went back to learning how to use blogger and when I thought I had it right, I jumped into the change. Thankfully, I pushed through with the switch and I'm just really learning new things day by day. :) I'm currently happy with where my blog stands now.

My advice, just take it one step at a time. You wouldn't be able to learn everything in one go. Just continue learning new things everyday. I'm sure your blog would go far with persistence, patience, and hard work! ^_^ You can do it!

    xoxo, Renee (

    1. First and foremost, I would like to thank you, Ate Ren for being supportive from the very beginning. You don't know how much it means to me having your words to back me up when I am doubting that I'll be able to work on this. I owe you, big time!

That happened to me as well. When I thought that tumblr isn't working for me anymore, I switched to blogger thinking things would be easier. But I got it all wrong because blogger is totally a different platform! When in tumlbr, you've got everything covered, here, I literally started from scratch. I then switched to wordpress but can't find happiness in there too. So here I am, back to blogger, trying to put everything into proper places. Had I not love blogging, I would not be taking such hassle in putting up this blog.

Your very humbling advice will be taken seriously. Happy New Year, ate!

  3. I have been there, girl! I doubted myself because I couldn't achieve the standards I wanted for my blog which resulted to an unstable blogging journey. I kept on moving from one blogging platform to another and then, it hit me. If I want to be the blogger I am dreaming of, I should stick to one and take it seriously but still the essence of being 'me' is still there in the blog. I blog hopped mostly about blogging tips and I thought of things that I could talk about like my love for books or anything that inspired me like reflections and lessons along the way. Through sharing of those things, I made a connection with people. :)

And everyday, I learn a thing or two throughout this blogging journey especially now, that I am a newbie on WordPress. It was a frightening move. I even wanted to back out during the move but thanks to a fellow blogger friend by helping me and encouraging me to continue this and of course, myself for being positive that I wanted this for so long and I'm already in the process so why back out now? It just means that there are always things to be afraid of during a journey but learning from it and applying some tricks to solve it or even improved an issue will make you the better blogger than you are yesterday. ;) Always believe in yourself even though you may get lost at it. You can take a break and you deserve that. :)

Congratulations on the new start and cheers to a happy new year! :)

    1. Your story is very familiar! I thought I am reading my own, to be honest. It was exactly the battle I am struggling to win - to make my blog as a reflection of my true self. I also want to make connection with people along the process. I want this blog to be a channel for communication, not just an ordinary vent.

I don't think you'll find it difficult to cope with WordPress. I can see that it is your nature to communicate with people. Your posts also help a lot. People (including me) find your blog worth visiting. I hope I'll be seeing more of it.

Thank you very much for taking the time visiting my blog. Happy New Year!

    2. Awwe. You're so sweet, Ate Xeph! :)

  4. I've been there girl, from Tumblr to Blogspot, back to Tumblr, and now to Wordpress. Even after getting my domain, I still am not satisfied with my blog so I had to delete all my posts, like all so I could give my blog a fresh start this 2017 lol. I think what's important is we strive to improve, and we change what we can't accept. If we don't like something we change, most especially if we're not happy with it.

Let's take baby steps at a time and let's avoid pressuring ourselves if we haven't gotten the kind of blog we've been dreaming of in a snap. We'll get there haha. Happy new year! 💞

  5. As they say, change is the only thing constant in this world. I don't see change as a bad thing but a manifestation that we grow and we learn.

Good luck on this new journey! :)

    1. I hope that this change will be a good one, then. Thanks, Jenn!

  6. Hi Xeph, I'm new to your blog! :) I recently published a post about doubting my degree program because it's totally a contrary to my passion. But seeing you as an engineer and blogger at the same time really helped me up! Thaaank you for being an inspiration. Stumbling upon your blog is like an answer to my uncertainty. :D

    1. Hi Alyssa! I didn't think I will be able to become someone's inspiration just because I survived engineering. Nevertheless, you made me really happy today. Honestly, I don't know what to tell you since I am so flattered and my words caught in my throath. Let's talk more often, please. I would be really grateful exchanging words with you.
